The #1 selling blackout plate for a reason

We use the latest technology used in switchable privacy glass, sealed into an ultra-slim plate cover.

Blocks all camera flashes

Engineered with the latest technology, our blackout plate ensures complete opacity when activated and 83% transparency when turned off.

Extremely durable

IP65-rated and protected by a high-impact frame, our plate cover is built to withstand rain, snow, dust, and heat year-round.

Built for US/Canadian bike plates

Carefully crafted to fit motorcycles with standard 7" × 4" US/CA license plates.

Remote and switch included

Switch it with the wireless remote from up to 164 ft (50 m) away, or with the physical switch included in every motorcycle kit.

How does it work?

One press of the wireless remote or the physical switch turns the cover fully black in 0.01 ms. Press again and it returns to 83% clear, so your plate reads normally. It is silent and has no motor or moving parts.

How dark does it get?

Fully opaque. When it is on, your plate cannot be read through the cover. When it is off, the cover is 83% transparent and your plate looks normal.

Will it fit my motorcycle?

It fits the standard 7" x 4" (180 x 100 mm) US motorcycle plate, and Canadian motorcycle plates of the same size. Your plate must be flat. Not sure? Send us your bike and your state or province and we will confirm it.

How do I switch it on and off?

Use the wireless remote from up to 164 ft (50 m) away, or the physical switch included in the kit.

How is it installed and powered?

Mount the cover with the included license plate bracket, then connect the included wiring to your bike. Most riders finish in under 15 minutes. Rather not touch your bike's wiring? The Essential Bundle adds a battery pack holder for a wire-free setup (batteries not included). The motorcycle video is on our Tutorial page.

Where can I use it?

The BL4CKOUT Plate is sold for off-road use only: car shows, exhibitions, track events, photography and private property. Some areas, including California, may also prohibit off-road use. Please review your local laws and regulations before installation. The manufacturer and retailer assume no responsibility for misuse or legal violations.
