The #1 selling blackout plate for a reason

We use the latest technology used in switchable privacy glass, sealed into an ultra-slim plate cover.

Blocks all camera flashes

Engineered with the latest technology, our blackout plate ensures complete opacity when activated and 83% transparency when turned off.

Extremely durable

IP65-rated and protected by a high-impact frame, our plate cover is built to withstand rain, snow, dust, and heat year-round.

Built for US/Canadian plates

Carefully crafted to fit all cars with US/CA license plates with a guaranteed fitment unlike others.

Always know when it's activated

A bright LED indicator mounts inside your car, so you always know whether your plate is blacked out or clear.

The cover uses the same technology found in switchable privacy glass. One press of the remote turns it fully black in 0.01 ms, another press returns it to 83% clear. It is silent, has no moving parts, and works from up to 164 ft (50 m) away.
Fully opaque. Switched on, the plate cannot be read or photographed through the cover. Switched off, it is 83% transparent and your plate reads normally.
It fits the standard 12" x 6" (305 x 152 mm) US and Canadian car plate. Your plate must be flat. Not sure? Send us your car and your state or province and we will confirm it.
Every kit includes a bright LED indicator that mounts inside your vehicle, so you are never guessing.
Yes, 10 to 15 minutes. Plug it into the 12V cigarette lighter socket, or hardwire it with the included wiring. Everything you need is in the box, and video tutorials are on our Tutorial page.
The BL4CKOUT Plate is sold for off-road use only: car shows, exhibitions, track events, photography and private property. Some areas, including California, may also prohibit off-road use. Please review your local laws and regulations before installation. The manufacturer and retailer assume no responsibility for misuse or legal violations.
